MOUNTAIN BIKING: Horse Hill Nature Preserve

← NH SOUTH BRANCH PISCATAQUOG RIVER GOFFSTOWN NH Single Tracks →

Description

Great 4.0 mile loop around protected wetlands. Very rocky and rooty.
Overall not to technical but it has its moments. Great training loop to really
hammer it out. Other trails also criss cross the main loop trail. A few hill
summits make for some good quick climbs. The Ledge trail is a nice downhill
section geared for bikers, and the Quarry trail has a few nice technical
sections. Part of the property crosses one of the last remaining sections of
the Old Kings road, which was used in the 17th and 18th century by the
King of England to collect local taxes. Preserve trails were created and
maintained by the town of Merrimack and are heavily used by walkers and
horses on weekends especially so be cautious and courteous to fellow trail
users.

Directions

Take Exit 11 off of Everett Turnpike in Merrimack, Take a right at the burger

king on Amherst Rd. Follow for about 3 miles. Sign and lot for the preserve is

on the left hand side.
